Last Saturday we were honoured to play during James and Steve’s ceremony and drinks at the beautiful Kilworth House.
They mainly chose songs from our acoustic covers album on iTunes, available here. But wanted “One Day Like This” by Elbow to walk down the aisle to, which they both did with their respective parents, which was lovely.
Then we played a 45 minute set during their drinks reception, whilst guests enjoyed champagne and canapés.
On bank holiday Monday we had our first outing to the amazing Stapleford Park, despite it only being up the road from us in Melton Mowbray. What a stunning venue to host the wedding of the beautiful Youvinia and Aman.
The ceremony was held in the orangery, which as you can see by the pictures, looked absolutely stunning. Set off perfectly by Melissa Adriana Parmar playing the harp.
They asked us to learn “Kiss From a Rose” by Seal, which we loved playing while guests sipped the reception cocktails.
We had the pleasure of playing for Denise and Steven and guests at the beautiful and impeccably well run Pencoed House Estate in Cardiff. Jamie, the owner knows exactly how to run an amazing wedding and was extremely helpful to us from the moment we arrived to the time we left.
Denise and Steven booked us for their ceremony and drinks reception. We played “Marry Me” by Train as Denise walked down the aisle, At Last by Etta James and Let’s Stay Together by Al Green as Denise and Steven signed the register and “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles as they exited as a married couple. It was a beautiful ceremony with many guests to witness!
We then played during their drinks reception in the beautiful garden at Pencoed House Estate. We were honoured to be a part of their great day!
Last night we played for the lovely Danielle and Sean and their hilarious guests at The Woodlands, Hothorpe Hall – one of our favourite venues.
They booked us as their evening entertainment with DJ package. We started the evening off with some of our more laid back material as evening guests arrived for drinks. What started off as laid back soon turned into quite a few guests on the dance floor singing at the top of their lungs! It was like having my own choir! I was already looking forward to the second more up-tempo set we had planned.
Our last song of the first set was Danielle and Sean’s first dance, they asked us to learn Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran, it was a very moving first dance and looked like they had no idea the rest of the world was around them. Lots of happy tears in the audience and I was even a little bit choked up(very professional!).
During our second set, the bride, groom and guests did not disappoint! We played to a packed dance floor and once again, my choir was there. One gentleman in particular was louder than the rest and I was struggling to maintain composure again as he was trying to hit the notes in Ride on Time – very funny!
A lovely couple with great friends. We were very honoured to be Danielle & Sean’s wedding music on their wedding day.
Yesterday we played for the beautiful Nicole and Kristie who had their wedding at Home Farm Events in Braunstone, Northamptonshire, a venue we’d never played at before.
It’s a marquee next to a farm house on top of a hill and even though the weather was great all week, it decided to blow a gale yesterday! We thought the marquee might take off. It didn’t detract from the lovely decor the girls had worked hard to achieve inside the marquee though.
They booked our full day package. We played our first set during the drinks reception, a mixture of laid back pop and soul classic and contemporary songs as people chatted and enjoyed champagne, Pimms, beer and Sangria. Then we played 2 x 45 minute uptempo sets during the evening reception. The wedding guests were well up for a dance and packed the dance floor all night! We finished the evening with our DJ package until 12am.
We really loved playing for Nicole and Kristie and their fabulous guests. A beautiful wedding with great guests!
Hello! We are Bird & the Bad Man Acoustic Duo. We’ve been playing live acoustic music at weddings all over the UK and abroad for the last 4 years. We thought it was high time we started sharing some of the great experiences we have on a new blog!
Here are a few pictures from some of the weddings we’ve played so far in 2016!
